Life is like Waxing…

Yes you heard right waxing… and no we don’t mean that stuff you put on furniture or cars. We are referring to waxing the art of applying searing hot wax to your most delicate areas before ripping off what seems like metres of flesh all to result in silky smooth skin making it all worth it. So much as waxing is painful so is life but sometimes its necessary to go through a little bit of pain in order to come out beautiful on the other side.

Sometimes it is necessary to “rip off the wax strip” in order to reveal the true and beautiful you underneath. Here are some thoughts on ripping off the wax strip in your life:

The 6 Stages of waxing your life:

Stage 1: Admitting you have a problem.

Admitting failure is quite cleansing, but never - pleasurable.  Michael Morpurgo

As with waxing we often enter the denial phase of admitting we have bad or negative things in our lives. By acknowledging there is negativity and bad things or people in your life you can make the necessary steps to eliminate them.

Stage 2: Preparing for the pain.

“Behind every beautiful thing, there's some kind of pain.” Bob Dylan

Knowing that something is going to be painful is often the reason why we just avoid it all together. Sometimes our biggest problems are in our heads. More often than most we imagine it worse than it actually turns out being.

Stage 3: Accept help

“You are not a burden, you HAVE a burden, which by definition is too heavy to carry on your own.” - Anon

Seeking the help of a professional is not a sign of weakness. It’s okay to accept help. Sometimes taking matters in your own hands can end with you in a whole lot of pain and your bum cheeks sticking to the bath tub.

Stage 4: Let it Rip

“At some point, you just pull off the Band-Aid, and it hurts, but then it's over and you're relieved.” – John Green

Ripping off the wax strip can be painful and often leaves you feeling vulnerable and exposed. But those feelings are will force you to see the beauty underneath.

Stage 5: Dealing with the pain

"A true champion will fight through anything." - F Mayweather

Pain is real. You have to address it, or you will never get beyond it. Allowing yourself to feel all the feelings and fighting through it is important and is part of the process of healing your life.

Stage 6: Enjoying the Outcome.

“Turn your wounds into wisdom.”– Oprah Winfrey

The silky smooth result after a wax makes you realise the pain was worth it. The same counts for life, good things rarely come quick and easy. But once you have endured the pain of letting go you can enjoy the outcome
